Thanks kate and pdiddp! Congrats on your first and second place trophies last month. You both got your highest averages ever. Well done!

kate: I think you'll do well in whatever you set your mind to do. It's fun for me to do the 4x4 APPW competition. The word paths are more compact and often more convoluted and the timer is 2 mins. So it's a different type of game. It usually takes me a few games to warm up my brain for 4x4 mode but I get back into it.

pdiddp: I did find some rather bizarre words, my 2 favorites in that category being ANTHROPOPSYCHISM and DIPHTHONGIZING.

DIPHTHONGIZING

Adverb /DIPH•THONG•IZ•ING/

1. The condition where a person wearing a new swimsuit takes a dip in the ocean and
after laying in the sun realizes that their suit has shrunk causing agonizing pain.

2. The emotional pain caused by a swimsuit breaking or falling apart in public.

etymology;
Thought to have originated in Florida though some authorities claim southern California. First known usage occured in 1975 due to the importation of cheap, poorly made thongs. The usage has since expanded to include any swim gear that shrinks or otherwise is damaged from use causing physical or emotional pain.

(DIPHTHONGIZE; DIPHTHONGIZED)
