Congratulations! BTW, I played that game years ago, too.

Congratulations! In this game, the more pre- and suffixes you can add, the better, and what works can surprise you. (I recently got OVERMULTITUDINGS, which seemed wrong in more ways than one.) Anyway, you do have to watch out for when -NESS works and -NESSES doesn't, and vice versa. Also, when you find -NESSES & nothing too promising to go with it, try something simple like OUTNESSES. (I've never tried OUTLESSNESSES, but I have my doubts.)

For crazykate and DrP: yesterday I found MUSICOLOGY for 11 pts. First time I played it and haven't seen it in any word lists either.

A day or two ago, I got ETHNOMUSICOLOGIST. I think MUSICOLOGIST was the previous best word on the board. Maybe they've introduced a new batch of -MUSIC- words?

Could well be. I mentioned to mcdonna before that we've both come across "theme days" where words and their derivatives show up in different games.
Edit: After you posted I looked up the screenshot I took of that board and there it was: ETHNOMUSICOLOGY. You bettered me once again Spike! I wonder if I'm losing my grip on big words. I may not be much of a challenge for you in February.

So far I've had UNFRUITFULNESS in finding musically themed words but will keep my eyes peeled!

Another theme? I found FRUITLESSNESSES a few days ago. Also played STONYHEARTEDNESSES and GREATHEARTEDNESSES within 2 days of each other.

I'm sure I've seen -MUSIC- come up over time, but I don't remember being able to do much with it before. Anyway, yes, keep your eyes peeled & I'm sure you'll find a good one.

I've run across lots of -HANDEDNES(ES), -HEADEDNESS(ES) and -HEARTEDNESS(ES) words over time. I've seen LONG- and SHORTHEADEDNESS before. One word I missed (saw too late) recently was BRACHYCEPHALY (or some form of that). It means SHORTHEADEDNESS.
