Default Handedness, LRA?

So, I was wondering, are you left handed, right handed, or ambidextrous?

Are you taking a poll or something? If so, I'm right handed.

Right handed, though I'm pretty good with my left hand too. Not ambidextrous though. I chalk it up to playing the violin.

Left-brained When I played guitar the left hand did most of the work and I was surprised how training and practice could make it that dextrous.
I don't mean to brag but I can also type with both hands.

Same here. I chalk it up to playing guitar. Musical instruments are a great way to develop coordination with both hands.

Interesting pattern developing: I'm right-handed also, but not terrible with the left hand, and there's a musical instrument played with the left hand (French horn).

Right-handed, but pretty good with my left hand. I play both piano and viola. (Also, even though it didn't really use the hands, I probably developed much better overall left-side coordination from playing competitive soccer all the way through college level and doing a lot of left-foot practice.)

Default Righthanded

Righthanded but play the piano and violin since age 8 and age 6. Am semi-ambidextrious. When I play volleyball I hit both right and left handed based on where the set goes.

Right handed, bat left handed, I can kick with my left foot in soccer just as well as my right foot, everything else is awkward left handed, even...... that's why it's called..... the stranger.......

Default I'm Right handed

I'm right handed, but certainly have some skill with the left hand. Back when I was young I learned to swing a bat and throw the football left handed pretty good. I suppose all typists are a bit ambidextrous, to learn the skill of typing with the non-dominant hand, just takes some willpower and practice. True ambidextrousness is very rare, which would be equal skill, even in things such as writing - doesn't seem practical. I will say that my dad and sister said that I was originally going to be left handed, but I believe my dad made sure that I used my right hand, justifying that it'd be better for me since it's a right handed world mainly. Of course I was unaware back then.

After thinking about it, everyone could be ambidextrous, it's just not necessary to develop a one handed skill with each hand. So the term dominant simply means that is the hand you have chosen to develop more one handed skills with, and that hand becomes stronger from more use. Imagine writing with both hands at the same time, seems crazy, but isn't that what we're doing when typing, just in a more simplified way. I wonder also what causes the inclination for one person to be right handed and another left handed?
