Boolean is a proper noun. It is derived from George Boole and it refers to his work.

A curie is a unit of radiation, similar to a watt is a unit of energy and a tesla is a unit of attractive power. They originate from appropriate names, yet now that they are units they are never again promoted. "Boolean" is a proper noun, and not a unit of measurement. There is no such thing as a "boole".
