It's the German word for emerald. Didn't know it was English, too.

EMMENTALIST doesn't count. (A particular type of cheesehead? Would it be a good word for a Packers fan from Switzerland?)

But EMMENTAL doesn't count either. And I tried both just before time expired, which kept me from seeing SALUKI soon enough to type it. (That word wouldn't have been especially high-scoring, but no one has yet found it on the board and I would have been quite proud of it.)

I'm kinda proud that you knew saluki was a word anyway...

Probably the single most common dog breed in Dubai when I was growing up there.

FUNGALIZE is not a word. (Presumably FUNGALIZATION and FUNGALIZATIONS aren't either; they would have been on the board but I didn't bother to try them.)

Neither are FUGALIZE (something Bach might have done?) or FINGALIZE (vaguely Irish-sounding).

(Tied the longest and highest scoring word record on the board with CENTRIFUGALIZATIONS, and it's unlikely there's anything longer.)

On a separate board, BEERISMS isn't a word, as much as we'd like it to be one.

English is an ever evolving language, therefore "if you build it...".

If you google Beerisms and go for images, there are results, some of them quite funny and most very true...therefore it is a word in real life!

I particularly liked, "Wish you were beer", and "money can't buy happiness, but it can buy beer, and that's the same kind of thing".

And sometimes I try ridiculous compound words just for the hell of it.

MOTORDUCK and MOTORDUCKS aren't words, but I didn't really expect them to be.

Really? I've seen ads for something like that... Not exactly "motor" ducks, but battery powered...

Not a word: ETHANOLOGISTS, possibly related to BEERISMS.
