So... I knew this could be a word, but I was rather shocked to get points for it anyway: TETRAGONALNESSES.

Speaking of this, a few days ago I got SACCHARINITIES. I'm trying to up my average points/word, so I threw it away, but I was surprised that it worked.

polysaccharide(s) - Same story.

I got them both just a few minutes ago! Yeah!

Then something unbelievable happened:

lipopolysaccharide

and

lipopolysaccharides

Put the "lipo" in front because it’s a prefix and I thought it was worth a shot.

It’s been a few minutes since the game. Couldn’t stop my happy, happy dance!
Good games to all! Enjoy!

Excellent find TR! See, you are getting better.

Yesterday I played a low-scoring 4x4 board, looking for new records. I had played mixt and it tied the record. As time counted down, I thought, "This is no time for bemuddled thinking. Be focused and keep looking." Continuing to bepuzzle, I saw "be" next to mix and felt behooved to play BEMIX. Woohoo! New record. Even better, BEMIXT for 12 points. I begat 2 new records. Well, I'll be...

Two more from one board:

MERCH (again surprised at the abbreviated form being used)
SERENATE (accidentally scored by mistyping SERENADE, and it turns out to be an archaic form of the same word!)

Lol, you are a ton of fun.

When I first saw your award, I was bemixt with emotions. Humble for it twas not I who first beheld "bescatter" and "beknotted". (And you're pretty good yourself! ) Honored that you would bestow such a prestigious award upon me. (I somehow feel beknighted.) For some time I was betwixt and between but finally decided to humbly accept at your behest.

FUGLY counted. I tried it just for the hell of it, on a board that only had 162 words in total.

On the other hand, HITLER doesn't work, even though we use it to describe excessively dictatorial people.

Hi chiman,

You are right about the standard spelling, but a lot of the ultra-rare and rare words listed in Lexic and SOWPODS are accepted alternate spellings (some are really surprising). Lexic may refer to a word as a misspelling, but I've come to see that phrase as "we don't like it, or can't find much on it, but we have to list it because it's considered accepted and I'm tired of typing, 'alternate form or spelling of.'"

lapiz9lazuli is quite the player and knows a lot of accepted word forms. (I hope to catch up some day.)

Here is a copy of the listing in Lexic:

Definition of Fuschia
1. Noun. A dark purplish-red color.

Generic synonyms: Purplish Red, Purplish-red

Definition of Fuschia
1. Noun. (misspelling of fuchsia)

Wishing you good boards and great games,
Enjoy!
