Timer not stopping?

I've had two games where it looks like the timer has stopped but you can still enter words. Instead of a timer it just says start. Once you click on that start icon, the icon changes to Times Up and your results get posted. It definitely allowed me to play beyond the normal timer allowance.

I had this happen as well and I had to force myself to stop playing when I realized it was still going. I saw the times up thing come on and I could still enter words. I entered a couple before I realized what was happening but stopped because I didn't want a false high number in my scores. I wonder how many you can get if you keep typing???
