Hi! I just found this site earlier in the week and am in love with it!

I used to play a similar game on another site, but there was no message board and no chat, thus, no way to get to know the people you were playing against.

I thought I'd take advantage of the fact that I can actually interact with competitors and introduce myself. (I didn't see any other thread for this.)

I am 33 and am happily married with 2 children. I like playing word games online obviously. I am currently unemployed, but make jewelry, draw and paint to keep myself entertained. I'm a pathetic television addict and love movies of all types.

So that's me in a nutshell. Would love to hear about some of the other wordtwisters out there!

Hi Cheddar and everyone else!

No one else had replied yet so thought I would :)

I am 19 and a physics student in Hull, UK. Playing wordtwist is good for procrastinating when there is work to be done :)

Where are you from Cheddar?

Hey there, eqaeqa! Nice to meet you. I am from West Virginia.

I use wordtwist as a means for procrastination too, it's great for that! :)

I'm Jill, 41, from Ohio. I am a program supervisor for a company that provides services to people with mental retardation and developmental disabilites. I use this site to DESTRESS. I consider it a healthy addiction, as it keeps my mind sharp and my typing quick. I've noticed that I'm much faster at work now when I type, and I am making less mistakes. Kudos to Wordtwist! I am a beginning crafter of jewelry, and I buy and sell on ebay. Cheddar, have you ever seen all the cool stuff you can get to make jewelry on ebay?

Hi Jill, nice to meet you!
I get all of my jewelry supplies on ebay, they have great stuff there. I live in a very small town and pretty much the only place to shop is WalMart. Their craft selection isn't exactly stellar, so I quickly learned to look online. lol

What kind of things do you make? I have been doing some beadweaving and chain maille. I have really been wanting to get into silver work. I went to school for graphic design and would like to find a means to make something a bit more sculpture driven. It seems like silver would allow me that. Now it's just a matter of motivating myself

Sounds like you have a interesting job. I'm sure it is quite stressful, but I bet it had its rewarding moments as well.

Hi Cheddar,

Working with silver sounds like it would be fun, but challenging. I'm at the very beginning level, and am starting with some beginning beading. I also bought some geode slices on ebay, and plan to make them into pendants. They are very pretty, and with a simple black satin cord and some clasps, I think I could make something wearable. Good luck with the silver. I just glanced through a book yesterday that shows you how to bend silver and gold into wearable jewelry. I'll be lucky to string a few beads, because it's not as easy as it looks! Have fun!

Thank you for starting this thread. I've been playing here for a while now and it's great fun.

I'm Cathy, 49 years old, happily married and living in Virginia. In my "real life" I work as a proposal coordinator. You could probably guess from my screen name what I do in my other life: I play the flute in a local symphony orchestra and also play for weddings and for any other events I can. I'm also a TV addict and love to read and play Boggle -- sometimes all at the same time!

I hope others will also introduce themselves. It's nice to get to know who we're playing with. :)

Nice to meet you Cathy. It seems like about every other board I play, I see your name holding the record high score!

I played the flute in high school and college, it was the only joy of my school years LOL I actually miss playing it, but if I'd pick it up after all these years I'm sure I'd just embarrass myself!

I hope more people respond too! It's nice finding out who else is playing :)

Thanks -- I guess it helps that I type about 100 wpm, and that I play Boggle every chance I get!

I meet a lot of people who used to play the flute. I'm just glad I've managed to keep it up all these years -- I was at the right place at the right time when the orchestra was getting started in 1991 and have been playing with them ever since. I know I'd really miss it if I had to give it up.

You could pick it up again and play for yourself, just for fun. You'd probably do better than you think.
