How do you know how you are doing against other players at the end of each game? Do you just have the winner to compare your score?

I'm pretty new to this but it seems the scores are the best over all the games played on that board before you actually play it yourself.

This indicates to me that there may not be anyone else playing the same board
as you at the time you are playing.

In other words you are trying to better the scores and words of all those that have played that board at any time.
