View Full Version : Bug
Hi Admin!
Thanks for the great site.
I saw the following error under the grid in a recent game. It didn't seem to affect anything, but I just thought I'd let you know.
Warning: sort() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /var/www/vhosts/boggled.org/httpdocs/play.php on line 344
I should also mention that when the game page loaded, it seemed to be too far to the left as if the border was morning.

Thanks for the bug report, caly - I'll look into this today.
Well, I'm just full of bugs now.
Yesterday, twice while playing (using IE), the timer never appeared nor started for two games. I read somewhere where you recommended Firefox, so I tried that today. Twice within the past now, Firefox has done a hard crash while playing. A box appeared allowing me to tell Mozilla about the problem, so they have whatever data is sent when FF crashes.
Just thought I'd let you know.

Hi Caly -
Thanks for letting me know. I'm running some diagnostics today and will see if any obvious bugs pop up. I can't think of anything that would actually crash a browser but we'll see what it sends back.
Here's a good one...
I just played a game and prior to starting it, I noticed I already held the previous high score. I merrily typed away playing again and think I beat my previous score by two points based on the running tally. When the results page was displayed, though, it showed I had a ridiculously low number of points and there was a completely different grid than the one I had played! The short list of words it gave me credit for were indeed words I had typed, but it apparently applied my word list to the different grid now being displayed. (I think "Trigger" held the record on the different grid being displayed.)
I hit the Back key and the grid I thought I had played did indeed display again so I wasn't hallucinating.
Maybe there's a bug if you play a game you've already played and hold the high points number on?

Hi Caly -
Thanks for this. You did indeed find a bug - each puzzle is supposed to have an absolutely unique id code, but for some reason that one puzzle you played repeated an id code used in an earlier game played today by another contestant.
Will do some re-coding tonight to hopefully avoid this in the future - apologies for that, but thanks again for pointing it out!

I play WordTwist in Facebook, and I am finding it to crash every so often. This usually happens if I play a number of games in a row. Sometimes the third, sometimes the second, and everytime it crashes (at the start of a game) it would record my score to be zero, which is very frustrating.
I am running ubuntu linux, and Firefox 3.0.3. I have looked under ubuntuforum for similar complaints, and updated a number of things. It fixed it for a day, then it crashes again.
This seems to happen only to WordTwist in Facebook, as I also play Scramble (which I understand also is a flash application), and I can play multiple games in a row with no problems.
