I've made some mentions of this in the past but just wanted to make it "official" that we've now launched our ongoing, monthly competitions for those who want to play a bit more competitively. All players who are logged into a registered account are automatically entered into each month's competitions, and in fact we've been tracking monthly scores for August since the 1st of the month already. Each month we'll have the "standard" competition for most points accrued that month, but we'll also have side-competitions for the highest average score per game, average words found per game, and average score per word. Honorable mentions will also be handed out to players who find particularly long or high-scoring words during competitive play.
At the end of every month the scores will be tallied, and the top 20 players ranked in each of our four competitions will receive appropriate trophy icons on their profile pages. These will accumulate from month to month, so those who compete and win from month-to-month will have a nicely-stocked "trophy room" to show for their efforts. :-)
Some basic rules:
- only players who have tallied 50 or more games in a given month will be eligible for the "average score/words" competitions.
- players who wish to play while logged in, but do not wish to have their scores tallied for competition, can opt out - just send me (admin) a private message requesting that you be removed from competitive play
