Is it just me, or is anyone else getting a message at the conclusion of EVERY game that reads, "This game took too long to be tallied." This has been happening to me for two days. Any thoughts?
TIA,
P

Hi MsCakes -
Sorry to hear that - can you let me know whether you're on a Mac or PC, and what browser you're using? (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, for example). I'll do my best to replicate the problem and fix it.

The actual message is as follows:
Error: This game started too long ago to be tallied. Would you like to play another?
I am using a PC, running XP and IE. I have used the same machine, same settings, etc. for as long as I've been a member, and had no problems prior to this one. I have gone through and emptied all of my history and cookies in IE, just on the offchance that it would help, but it made no difference.
Thanks for your help!

Hi again -
Just going through the logs, it looks like its taking an awful long time for you to reach the final tally screen. Our script now automatically invalidates any games that don't tally within 30 seconds of the 2 minutes being up.
My question is, what's causing this? Do you happen to have a particularly slow internet connection, or is the game somehow not transfering you properly to the finish page? When the timer goes to "Time's Up", is there generally a long wait before you see the final tally screen?
We'll figure this out yet. :-)

Stephen,
It looks like you can see what's happening with other players when they have a problem (as with Timing of the game above). I wonder if you can help me too. I really love playing boggled, but I have this recurring problem that I have mentioned a couple of times and it would be great if you could look into it. At some point, at least once a day, I will be happily typing away and it seems like I'm going faster than the points are tallied and eventually it ceases accepting my words -- the seconds are still running -- I'm at a standstill and eventually the "Time's Up" appears and it looks like the words/points are being tallied and displayed, but the colored display of the list only partly appears; most is usually just blacked out. Then, eventually, I get a screen that says "The page cannot be displayed." I have to disconnect from the Internet and reconnect, then reenter boggled.org in order to play. I'm pretty sure my points from the game are not being included in My Scores. I just hit 232 (one of my highest games yet) but then it never finished painting the whole screen, I was moved to Page cannot be displayed and I don't think my scores were recorded. You earlier suggested that I click on Time's Up, but I have tried that with no luck.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Wordie -
Unfortunately it looks like the problem may be with your system - either your computer is locking up, or your internet connection is dying. There's nothing unusual happening on the site that should ever cause someone's internet connection to conk out.
If you are using internet explorer, you may want to try in another browser and see if its any better (Firefox is recommended). If you have the same problems in both browsers, then I'd take a hard look at your internet connection's reliability.
This is one of the persistant problems with online games... the game can only work as well as the browser and ISP being used by each player. :-/

I'm encountering the "tallied" problem too. It's just occasional for me, but as far as I know, there's nothing wrong with my Internet connection.
FWIW, I'm running IE 7.0 on XP with all the latest updates. My PC is a Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz with 1 G of memory, and I have a cable connection.

Hi Caly -
Just to be clear, the problem you're having is the "This game began too long ago to be tallied" issue, correct?
I've disabled this feature for the time-being just a few moments ago, so hopefully that should fix it. Let me know.
