http://weboggle.shackworks.com/ - boggle, 4x4 & 5x5 boards, classic rules, liveplay with sometimes up to 200 people, but no chat (with the amount of bigotry on there, it's probably a good thing). no records, pressure-free play.

http://www.iwin.com - tangleword (register, click "online games" tab and in the far right hand column). tangleword is like boggle/word racers. you get more points for being the first one to get the word. there are always players, and some players are really too good. see the boggle savants in action, real-time. standard games are 2 minutes long, with a minimum of 4, 5, or 6 letters. but you can configure your own games, including board size/time length.

http://games.yahoo.com - under word games: word racers. kind of where it all began for me. you have to be the first to get a word, once it's taken, it's gone. so what you see/find in the first 10 seconds is crucial. so speed > ability to scope out long words, in general. one game: four rounds, four different shapes. 3 min each. other games featured on yahoo: literati (online version of scrabble), and graffiti (drawing game, like pictionary).

http://www.tetrinet.org http://www.tetrinet2.com - ok, for tetris lovers. this is about making tetrises as fast as you can to add lines to opponents' fields. quite addicting. i haven't played in years because i'm on a mac now. the first link is to the original client (delays between pieces is pretty long), and tetrinet2 is the latest one, where there are no delays between pieces (people often drop over 160pieces per minute).

http://www.typera.tk - typing speed test. 2 minutes of random sentences or 1 minute of random words. available in different languages.

http://www.setgame.com - set! a visual perception game. the rules are a bit confusing at first. the website offers one daily puzzle. you might win a game :) the game itself is 12 bucks. you can also buy the pc version. other games to check out: quiddler

http://www.scrabulous.com - scrabble ! play against other people or the computer. solitaire mode.

www.tothegames.com is quick and easy and free to register, and word hunt is like boggle except the scoring is different. lots of nice folks that and they have many other games too. Thanks for the tips, readdy2snapp :)

A word site I'm addicted to is www.playbabble.com.
The people are great, the chat log is friendly (trolls or offensive people are quickly dispensed with) and you get a new grid every 24 hours. Size of grids varies from small to huge, i.e. 55 to 350 or so. You decide how many you want to find. You can play for free, although some options disappear after trial period. I'm betting if you love word games, you'll like this site.

Here's another link you might want to try out - http://www.quote-puzzler.com/default.asp?refer=6M8YTY
There are 9 different word games, 6 of which are timed. I think there is a short trial period to try them out. If you join the site, (playing either some or all the games), you can compete for the daily, weekly and/or monthly bonus stars given, which add time to your subscription.

I just found out about this game -- and I'm already addicted:

Eight Letters (http://www.eastoftheweb.com/games/Eight1.html)

I got 27737 points my first try. It helps to be a Boggle addict!

Wow - fun. Does it ever end? I played up to twenty-one or so rounds with no sign of any culminating round. Thanks for that.

Text twist is fun if you like eight letters. It's a bit different as all words have been found and are listed as 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 letter words on the left side. The words aren't shown until you find them and as you find them it fills in the available words. There is always a 7 letter word in the puzzle. I found it on Yahoo and it's kind of addictive as well...

The site is Cobra Dragon and the game is Serpentine................Lots of fun with alot of former tangleworders.............There's chat during intermission and you also earn your ranking...........The rankings system is slighty strange, so don't expect to get back to the ranking you had a Tangleword..........Aot like Tangleword and its only be here since September I think..........
