View Full Version : version 2.0
Definitely interesting. 2.0 has an interesting look and feel. I liked being able to rotate the board.
The drop and drag didn't seem to work well for me. But then after doing this for a number of months, my style of play is pretty well fixed.
I will play 2.0 again.

the first time i tried v2.0, it worked ok, but i just tried it again, and this time keyboard entry seems to be disabled for some reason. i'm able to choose words with the cursor, but i'd much rather be able to type.
i'm not having any similar problem on the old 1.0 boards.
I like the look of it. I also like the rotate option. I haven't figured out how to do the dragging option successfully, though I prefer typing anyway.
One thing that slows me down (aside from poor typing skills) is that when I do rotate the board, I loose the focus. The cursor has to be repositioned in the entry box. If the cursor could be automatically placed in the box after I rotate a board, that would be great.
2.0 seems to make my eyes go blurry and I don't really like that you can rotate it because it makes it to easy.

although i like the rotate feature, at this point i'm still sticking with the original version.
i find the letters in 2.0 to be too close together, and i have a harder time finding words. i prefer the more spacious 1.0 layout.

Hi Pete -
This issue should now be fixed in Version 2.0. Thanks again!

Hi again everyone -
We released a major code release today that should upgrade most of our player's concerns about the new Flash-based playing board.
This new version more closely resembles the layout and design of the original board, with more spacing between the tiles. It fixes a number of previous bugs, and most importantly, we've increased the framerate quite a bit so that it should no longer interfere with the super-fast typing skills of some of our "power users". :-)
Please continue to post any problems, questions or comments about the new board - your feedback is hugely appreciated!
Thanks for playing -

I find the board harder to focus. Perhaps because I am so accustomed to the old one. Also, I liked the old method of rating my words...the words were coloured;the new version prints the rating beside it in colour, taking up more space and making it a 2-step process.

Is there a way to click individually on the letters in Version 2.0 instead of only having the option of clicking and dragging or typing the words?
Thanks,

i like the greater space between the letters in 2.1.
i miss having the puzzle stats displayed while i'm playing, though.

Yep, in the newer version I miss the brightly colorful word display that accumulates as I type...

Eeks, go out of town for the weekend and come back to messed up boggle. :p I am used to the old version. It seems I can't tell if my word was a score as easily as before. Perhaps it's where they show up, or how they show up, I don't know. Everytime something like this changes, it takes some time getting up to speed. I was an avid mouser at the other boggle sites, and coming here, I started typing. Now I am used to typing and don't think I could mouse it anymore.
