Is the alternate timer mode just so you can see how many words you can squeeze out? When I tried this mode, there was no way to submit the words to see how well (or poorly) I had done. I ended up just hitting "new game".
I figured the score wouldn't count towards high scores, but I would like to see how many words I missed. Thanks

Hi folks -

The alternate timer was an experiment to see if a different type of timer script would work better... in the long run it seems like it has not been successful. I will likely be removing it shortly.

Thanks for answering so quickly. Sorry the alternate timer wasn't working out. Actually, I like the concept of trying the puzzles untimed - with the ability to check your word list against the answer list. Any chance of setting it up that way? It could be like a practice session... Or just a relaxed puzzle for those of us who don't do as well under the pressure of a timer. I know there are a lot of folks out there that just can't type 80+ words per minute, and it would help them too. What do you think?

Just a thought - would it be possible to have the alternate timer have a choice of time.
Be able to click maybe 4, 5, or 10 minutes.
Would be nice if someone didn't want to compete with the higher 300+ scores

I love the idea of being able to choose a different time.
This is a cool game, but I would really like to do it in 4 or 5 mins.
Please give this some consideration!
Thanks,

Being able to choose your own time limit doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Multiple time limits would make keeping track of personal stats and monthly competitions a server-draining nightmare. A better solution might be to just have a separate non-competitive mode where you can play boards with no time limit and just look for words until you get tired of looking.
