Hi folks -
We've been working hard at getting the "Head-to-Head Challenges" up and running, and we're getting close to launch time! For those who don't know what this is all about, the Head-to-Head Challenge will allow any registered player on Wordtwist.org to challenge another registered player to beat their score on any unique 4x4 or 5x5 playing board. When this is rolled out you will see a new option on your final score page (after you complete a game) that says "Challenge a friend". When you click that link, a challenge will be issued to another player of your choice via email and private message. They will receive a unique link to complete the challenge, and once they've done so the results will be displayed for both players and a winner declared for that challenge.
Now, in order to challenge another player, that player must be on your Buddy List. So I'm making this announcement ahead of time so that players who are interested in participating in Head-to-Head Challenges can start creating their buddy lists now so that they are ready to go when we launch this new feature.
Players can add/edit their buddy lists directly at:
http://www.wordtwist.org/forum/profile.php?do=editlist
You can now also add a player to your buddy list via a direct link from their individual profile page. You'll see a new "Buddy" icon + link just above the scorecard on every player's profile page.
Finally, I realize there are players here who have no interest in receiving challenges and just want to play privately. Not a problem - if you'd rather opt-out of the Head-to-Head Challenges you can now do so at:

Simply select "No" under the "Accept Head-to-Head Challenges" option and then SAVE your preferences.
