How come?

Even if I am the only person to (marked in green) to get a word in the game - and its the highest or best word, why does it never show as me? It simply says guest and doesn't get put in my records?

It shows the previous best and longest words. Afterwords, anyone who plays that board will see your words -- at least until someone else gets a better or longer word. If you play enough, you'll be able to see some boards you've already played again, and then you'll be able to see your name next to best word or longest word.
I think that's what confused you. If I misinterpreted your problem, just let me know.

Glad I could help. As for your next question, post #6 on this thread (http://www.wordtwist.org/forum/showthread.php?p=579#post579) outlines board retirement and new board adding pretty well. I think sometimes new boards come in clumps -- earlier this week I got quite a few, but I'm not getting so many now.

If your record shows as "Guest," it probably means you haven't logged in.
